Flattach is ideally situated in relation to two beautiful ski areas. Those who like to book a snow sure vacation, Flattach is definitely in the right place. Thanks to the Mölltal Glacier it is an area where you can actually ski all year round.
 
Cross-country skiers also come into their own in Flattach and its surroundings. If you add up all the cross-country skiing areas, you will soon find almost 100 kilometers of prepared challenging trails.

Ski area Mölltaller Glacier

The ski area is particularly wide, and it is a wonderful place for somewhat advanced skiers / The ski area of the Mölltal Glacier is 12 minutes away. This can be done by car but also with the ski bus.

From the valley station, you take the Mölltaler Gletscher Express, a spectacular mountain train, to the top. The mountain station of the Gletscher Express is at 2,108 meters altitude. From the mountain station, you can then continue to explore the ski area and reach an altitude of 3,122 meters.

The number of slopes is very varied, from beautiful long blue runs to challenging black runs. The ski area offers enough challenge for everyone. Thanks to the high altitude of the ski area, it is very snow certain but also very cold. So, keep that in mind.

Ski resort Ankogel has 2 gondola lifts and 3 drag elevators and a total of 12 kilometers of slopes whereby most of the slopes can be classified in the difficult category. The ski area is popular among freeriders because of the good off-piste possibilities.

Are you a fan of Nordic skiing, such as cross-country skiing? No problem in Flattach starts an eight kilometer long track and this runs through to the Mölltal towards the Gössntitz Sea. Outside Flattach in Mallnitz, 14 kilometers away, more than 25 kilometers of cross-country trails are tracked every winter. In the nearby Obervillach you can go on 20 kilometers of trails and who wants to cross-country ski until late in the season can go to the Mölltaller Gletsjer where 2.5 kilometers of trails have been constructed. However, you do need a lift pass or ticket for this.
