Summer
The summer months in Flattach are wonderful, during the day a nice sun and the evening it cools down. During the day it is great outside, cycling, hiking, climbing mountains and so on.
Many hiking and biking trails start in Flattach and pass by Zirnberg Appartments. So, you can start right in front of the front door.
Cycling in Flattach
From Flattach several beautiful cycling and mountain biking routes start. Also for cyclists there are dozens of nice challenging cols to climb. One of the most beautiful cycling routes in Austria the “Glockner-Radweg” passes Flattach, an ideal point for an overnight stay.
Of course, you can also take your bike and cycle a smaller round somewhere else. In the vicinity of Zirnberg Appartements are plenty of opportunities.
Hiking in Flattach
Hiking is a synonym for enjoyment in Austria. The surroundings of Flattach are an ideal hiking area for both beginners and advanced hikers. The Hohe Tauern National Park is just around the corner and is a wonderful area to explore while walking you will discover the beautiful mountain lakes, glaciers, impressive waterfalls and of course enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
In Flattach also begins the Raggaschlucht. A beautiful gorge made for the wild water that searches its way down. The Raggaschlucht is 800 meters long and you walk over narrow bridges and paths through the gorge. Since 1978 the Raggaschlucht is a protected nature reserve.
Hiking with childeren
There are also some nice hiking trails in the area for families. Like the Themenweg Großfragant. Here you actually walk on a former mining road. In the surroundings of Flattach there used to be a lot of searching for copper (Kupfer). Along the route you will find information boards explaining the mining activities in the area.

Rafting in the Möll
Those who are not afraid of a wet adventure head to the Wildwasserarena in Flattach. Here in the Möll – one of the cleanest and purest rivers in Austria – you can go rafting, kayaking and many more water sports where the water has to be as wild as possible.
